GBTI waives ATM, point of sale fees as part of coronavirus response

The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) has announced a waiver of fees for the use of its Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Point of Sale service for the remainder of the month to assist customers in taking precautions against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“We are concerned about the safety and protection of you our valued customers as well as the safety and protection of our staff,” the bank said in a statement on Friday when it announced the decision.

It said it has taken a number of steps to protect persons visiting the various branches and its staff, with the aim of preventing and or reducing transmission of the disease. These measures include the provision of hand sanitizers and wipes.
