The driver who fled on Saturday night after he allegedly struck down and killed pedal cyclist Vibert Tyrell on Brickdam has surrendered to the police.
Police spokesman Jairam Ramlakhan yesterday confirmed that the driver; a 38-year-old resident of South Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara, turned himself into the police at the Alberttown Police station on Sunday in the company of his attorney.
He is in custody assisting with the investigation.
