Magistrates’ courts adjourn cases until April 20

A week after the Magistrates’ Courts began implementing precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the judiciary has informed the public that all cases, excepting maintenance and domestic violence matters, have been adjourned until April 20th.

A notice was placed on the doors of each courtroom to inform persons visiting the courts for matters that were to be heard between the period March 23 and April 17. The notice, however, also informed that cases for persons in custody and prisoners on remand would be heard as scheduled.
