Man charged with illegal gun possession accuses cops of beating him

A man charged with illegal possession of a gun was remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Kent Isaacs, 49, appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus and told the court that he was beaten by two police officers before being arrested. It is alleged that on March 22nd at Garnett Street, Albouystown, Isaacs had a 9mm pistol in his possession, while he was not the lawful holder of a firearm licence. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
