COVID-19 cases now at 74

An additional case of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was recorded in Guyana yesterday, bringing the total of confirmed cases to 74. This is according to the Ministry of Public Health’s latest COVID-19 dashboard, which was posted on the ministry’s official Facebook page last evening. The number of persons who died as a result of contracting the disease remains at eight, while the number of persons who were tested moved from 410 to 442 in a 24-hour span. Fifty-four persons are still in institutional isolation however, the number of persons who are institutional quarantine has moved from 17 to 23. Both the number of persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit—5—and the number of persons who recovered—12—remain the same. A total of nine new coronavirus cases were recorded last week.
