On the 24th of April 1992, the now popular Mc Gill Super Stars Sports Club was founded by members of the agricultural village known as Canal Number One located on the West Bank of the Demerara River. The Club was named after a primary school located in Canal #1 called Mc Gillivray Primary School which most of its past and present members attended.
The club first started out as a softball team in the countryside but quickly developed into a hardball unit which was run and controlled by executive members.
