Many communities in Georgetown are currently experiencing flooding brought on by the seasonal May/June rains.

After two days of heavy rainfall in the city of Georgetown and other parts of the country, Stabroek News drove around Georgetown to have a look at the districts that are prone to flooding. Some areas that were flooded included Kitty, South Ruimveldt, Turkeyen-Sophia and South Cummingsburg. Stabroek News also made several attempts to contact the Civil Defence Commission (CDC) to ascertain which other areas outside of the city were badly affected by the heavy rainfall but these attempts proved futile.
