Guyana’s COVID-19 cases have officially increased by one to 114 following a positive confirmation through testing at a private institution.
While the Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Karen Gordon-Boyle initially said during yesterday’s Health ministry update that no new cases were recorded, Chief Medical Officer Shamdeo Persaud later confirmed the new case.
“You might see a little difference from the figures we are releasing officially from the ministry ’cause I’ve included the private sector who has started doing some testing and of the 11 that the results are in, they had one positive detected,” Persaud said at a separate presentation with stakeholders from the business community. Gordon-Boyle during the update also reported that 32 more persons were tested, bringing the total number of persons tested to 1052.
