Lusignan woman dies after Rupert Craig accident

A young Lusignan woman is now dead after a Route 44 minibus and another vehicle collided yesterday morning at Liliendaal, along the Rupert Craig Highway.

Sabita Sukhoo, 20, of 123 Lusignan Pasture, East Coast Demerara, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where she was rushed after the accident. Up to press time, two persons were at the hospital receiving medical attention, including the driver of the private vehicle involved in the crash.

Sukhoo, who was employed as a cashier at a Superbet branch, was one of three persons who were taken to the hospital shortly after the accident occurred around 9.45 am.
