15 new COVID-19 cases confirmed

Guyana yesterday recorded 15 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

As a result, the total number of positive cases stands at 230 since the outbreak in the country in March. During the Ministry of Public Health’s daily COVID-19 update yesterday, it was revealed that 68 new tests were done during the last cycle of testing, bringing the total number of persons tested so far to 2,423. Since the start of the first phase of the re-opening plan for Guyana on June 18th, there has been an increase in the number of cases as 47 persons have tested positive out of some 350 persons that have been tested between June 18th and yesterday.
