The rehabilitation of severely deteriorated sections of the Kitty seawall, near the pump station, is currently underway.
In an invited comment, Senior Engineer at the Ministry of Public Infrastructure Jermaine Braithwaite told Stabroek News that the rehabilitation of the sea defence, which started a few weeks ago, is an ongoing maintenance project that is being carried out by contractor Ivor Allen Construction.
In two separate visits to the seawall, this newspaper observed that sections of the wall have started to erode.
