Kissoons donate cleaning supplies

Kissoons donate cleaning supplies, meals to Society for the Blind: Following a request for help, the Guyana Society for the Blind (GSB) has received a donation of cleaning supplies from Tara Kissoon and the Kissoon family. Ganesh Singh, an executive member at the Society, told this newspaper that meals were also donated. Singh explained that the meals donated catered for a total of 50 persons while the supplies will be utilized for the purpose of sanitising the Society’s facilities at High Street. He said the donation was highly appreciated for fulfilling a need that existed, especially with the increase of rainfall and resulting flooding of late. This newspaper had previously reported the GSB’s appeal for supplies, including food, cleaning products and face masks, for distribution to the blind and other persons with disabilities who are in need of help during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Also reported was the constant flooding of their offices, whenever there is a heavy downpour due to the facilities and the road being at the same level and a buildup of waste that has not been picked up since March. Singh said the Society is continuing to seek donations. In photo are some of the supplies donated by the Kissoon family.
