Man found slumped on ATV died of ruptured spleen

Denzil Prince, the miner who was found slumped over an ATV at Kumung Kumung Backdam, Mazaruni River, Region Seven last week died as a result of a ruptured spleen due to malaria, an autopsy confirmed.

Police spokesman Jairam Ramlakhan confirmed the findings of the autopsy, which was conducted on Friday by Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh.

Prince, 31, a resident of Bartica worked with a dredge owner of West Indian Housing Scheme, Bartica whose operation is located about two miles away from the Kumung Kumung Landing.
