Two workers hurt at new hospital after shed collapses

Two construction workers were injured while demolishing a workshed at the newly constructed Infectious Disease Hospital at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara on Tuesday morning.

Alexander Rojas of Essequibo and Deodat Persaud of Friendship, East Coast Demerara, were identified as the two injured workers employed with Ivor Allen Construction Company.

 A representative from the company, who asked to remain anonymous, told this newspaper he was not present at the time of the incident. However, he related that about 9:30 am, workers were demolishing a work shed, when it collapsed.
