Nineteen new COVID-19 cases recorded

Guyana yesterday reported 19 new COVID-19 cases, all from Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo), which put the country’s total number of cases to date at 389.

Guyana’s positive cases continue to rise, most notably in the hinterland regions, which now account for more than half of the total number of cases recorded in the country.

During the Ministry of Public Health’s COVID-19 update on Monday, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shamdeo Persaud announced the new cases recorded from Region Nine.
