Berbice mom seeking probe after newborn discharged with burn on hand

A Berbice mother is seeking an investigation after her newborn was discharged from the New Amsterdam Public Hospital with a gaping hole on his hand due to a suspected burn from a defective intravenous line which she was never made aware of. 

Trishanna Ally, 23, of Fort Ordinance Housing Scheme, explained that she was admitted to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital on Friday, August 7, after she showed signs of labour. She said that on the afternoon of the said day the doctor broke her water bag but a C Section was not done until Saturday, August 8th around 6 am. 

After the C section, Ally who was unconscious after she lost a lot of blood, was taken to the Intensive Care Unit, while her son, Caleb, was taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
