Mingo placed on $600,000 bail

District Four Returning Officer Clairmont Mingo was this morning placed on $150,000 bail on each of four charges of misconduct in public office pertaining to the March 2nd general elections.

He appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennon.

His lawyer Darren Wade told reporters that Mingo was charged with four counts of misconduct in public office during the period surrounding the March 2 polls and granted bail in the sum of $150,000 for each charge.

He has been directed by the Court to lodge his passport with the police and to report to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) every Friday at 9 am.

Wade was today supported by Attorneys at Law Nigel Hughes who prepared the application and Ronald Daniels who appeared with him on Mingo’s behalf.
