Brazil Ambassador pays courtesy call on Foreign Minister: Brazil’s Ambassador to Guyana, Maria Clara Duclos Carisio (left) yesterday congratulated Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd, on his recent appointment. According to a release from the Ministry, she said that the President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, expressed interest in the ongoing dialogue between the two countries and, through that engagement, expanding the agenda on cooperation. Todd expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for Brazil’s continued support to, and cooperation with Guyana. He added, “We look to Brazil’s leadership in terms of protecting (Guyana’s) territorial sovereignty and integrity.” Brazil is traditionally seen as bulwark against Venezuelan aggression aimed at Guyana.
