Kilcoy fisherman fatally stabbed, suspect held

A Kilcoy, Corentyne fisherman was fatally stabbed in his village on Monday evening by a former friend and workmate, who was nabbed yesterday while attempting to flee via the Corentyne River. 

Dead is Alexander Yhap, also known as ‘John’, 25, a fisherman, of Lot 84 Kilcoy, Corentyne. 

Yhap, who sustained three stab wounds, was rushed to the Port Mourant Public Hospital. He was subsequently transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where he later succumbed while receiving medical attention.
