The Oasis Café is celebrating its 15th anniversary today.
Co-owner Nisa Walker, during an interview with Stabroek News, said the Carmichael Street, George-town café was started out of the then seemingly impossible task of finding “proper” coffee here.
Walker, who stated that cooking and baking had always been her passion and specialty, explained that after many of complaining of not being able to find good coffee, she and her husband decided it was time to start providing for themselves and others, hence their decision to open a small coffee shop, where they could offer cakes and pastries, while leaving enough time to take care of their children.
