Director of Social Services, Whentworth Tanner, during a recent interview with Stabroek News, disclosed that two wards at the Palms Geriatric Home are currently being renovated as part of efforts to have the facility as “elderly friendly” as possible and up to standard.
Tanner explained that it was being done for maintenance purposes, something he said they did from time to time when repairs are needed in any particular area that might be deteriorating.
He said the intention is to ensure that the environment in which the residents reside is as “elderly friendly” as possible and up to standard.
