Mumbai thrash KKR to go top

Quinton de Kock scored an unbeaten 78 off 44 balls and helped Mumbai Indians seal an eight-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders yesterday.

Mumbai Indians (MI) moved to the top of the points table after they beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by eight wickets in Match 32 of the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi yesterday.

Needing 149 runs to win, MI made their intentions clear from the first ball of the chase as Rohit Sharma hit a four off debutant Chris Green.  Pat Cummins conceded nine runs from the second over before Sharma and de Kock hammered three fours in the next over to help MI move to 30/0.

De Kock added two more fours to his tally as he took on Cummins in the fourth over. While he had a life in the next over after Varun Chakravarthy could not hold on to a tough chance, running backwards from the short fine-leg, de Kock managed to hit two fours. The de Kock-Sharma pair completed the 50-run stand in the final over of the powerplay.
