Two more COVID deaths reported, ministry still to confirm

Subsequently an almost daily increase in deaths have been recorded to date. 93 deaths were recorded between August 2nd to date a significantly higher number than the first 5 months of the COVID-19 outbreak in Guyana.

Two more deaths as a result of COVID-19 were yesterday recorded even as ministry officials await to confirm them.

Toshao of Kwebanna in the Moruca Sub-district in Region One, Paul Pierre confirmed one of the deaths while a source at the Ministry of Health confirmed the death of the second person but did not provide any information on the death. This would increase Guyana’s death toll as a result of the virus to 116.

According to information received, the individual from Region One was identified as Mitchell Henry of Kwebanna, Moruca Sub-district who was a former head teacher. The information revealed that Henry had underlying conditions.
