Cops awaiting legal advice on charges against suspected Venezuelan gang members

As the police await legal advice on possible charges, six men, including four Venezuelans who are suspected to be members of a Syndicato gang, have been released from police custody.

When contacted for an update, Guyana Police Force spokesman Assistant Com-missioner Royston Andries-Junor said that case file was prepared and sent to the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice, which will determine the way forward in the matter.

He said the investigation is being handled by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
