U.S. Marine Security Guards 245th anniversary

The cutting of the cake. US Ambassador Sarah-Ann Lynch is second from right.

The U.S. Marine Security Guards marked the occasion of the 245th anniversary of the forming of the United States Marine Corps at a small ceremony in Georgetown. Ambassador Sarah-Ann Lynch was the guest of honour, a statement from the US Embassy said yesterday.

Lynch hailed the work of the Marine Security Guards for answering the call to duty and for their valour in protecting U.S. Embassies around the world. Currently 184 U.S. Embassies are guarded by U.S. Marines, the statement added.
