Guyana Annual launches ‘Folklore edition’

This year’s edition of the Guyana Annual, featuring writing, art and photography from local Guyanese writers, was recently launched and is now on sale.

The Annual hosts annual competitions to discover and promote Guyanese writers and artists and winners are awarded a modest cash prize and have their work is published in magazine’s print and digital platforms.

The Edgar Mittleholzer Prize for Open Short Story was won by Daryll Goodchild with his story ‘Lucky Stars,’ while the Jan Lowe Shinebourne Prize for Junior Short Story was won by Analise Samaroo for her story ‘En Route to America,’ and the Sheila King Prize for Writing Short Story for Children Prize was won by Kathleen Thompson-Henriquo with her story ‘Terror by Night.’
