Court finds sufficient evidence for case against former cops in ‘Saga’ murder

Georgetown Magistrate Fabayo Azore yesterday ruled that a prima facie case has made against former policemen Derwin Eastman and Jameson Williams, who are charged with the October, 2017 murder of businessman Godfrey Scipio.

When the preliminary inquiry into the charge against the men continued yesterday, Magistrate Azore held that sufficient evidence was led to establish a case against the two murder accused at the close of the prosecution’s case. As a result, Eastman and Williams have opted to lead a defence. The two are expected to call witnesses to testify on December 11th.

Eastman and Williams are accused of murdering Scipio, also known as “Saga,” on October 12th, 2017, at Stanley Place and David Street, Kitty, Georgetown.
