Guyana still in talks with Suriname on health guidelines for cross border travel

Although travel between Suriname and Guyana is expected to resume on December 12th, the two governments are still in discussions on health protocols.

The government through the recently released Emergency Health Measures that are expected to be in effect until December 31st, revealed that travel between Suriname and Guyana through the Moleson Creek port.

During yesterday’s COVID-19 update, Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony stated that the ministry has been working with the Surinamese authorities to ensure that there can be a synchronisation of the guidelines and protocols for reopening the Moleson Creek port.
