Corentyne men jailed after pleading guilty to robbery, other charges

Three Corentyne men were yesterday sentenced to prison terms after they pleaded guilty to all the respective charges filed against them, which included robbery, robbery with violence and possession of firearms and ammunition. 

Akeem Cummings, 19, a labourer of Lot 26 Spring-lands, Akeem Blades, 18, a labourer of Lot 24 Dukes-town, Corriverton, and Neil Proffit, 26, unemployed of Lot 56 Number 76 Housing Scheme, were charged with the armed robbery of Abdoel Bhoelan and Bibi Bhoelan, which occurred on December 5 at Number 76 Village, Corentyne.  

They all appeared yesterday before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh at the Whim Magistrate’s Court, where they pleaded guilty to the charge.
