An investigation has found that a fire that gutted a two-storey house at North Ruimveldt last Tuesday was an act of arson.
Fire Chief Marlon Gentle told Stabroek News that the suspect has since admitted to starting the fire.
However, the matter remains under investigation and charges are still to be instituted against the suspect.
