Guyana last evening received a field hospital from Qatar which is expected to be set up in the compound of the West Demerara Regional Hospital.

The field hospital was flown into Guyana by a Qatari military aircraft which landed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport. It was officially received by Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony.

On Monday during a COVID-19 update, Anthony had stated that in 2020, President Irfaan Ali had had discussions with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, about the two countries’ relations and had discussed issues relating to the novel coronavirus.
