WDFA executive blames COVID-19 for zero movement in transfer window

Adrian Giddings

With the presence of COVID-19 resulting in the continued lockdown of the football season, West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) secretary Adrian Giddings confirmed that the association observed zero movement during the recently concluded January transfer window.

During an exclusive interview with Stabroek Sport, Giddings stated that the association did not witness any transfer amongst the clubs under its umbrella, with the only movement occurring between a local club and an Elite League team.

He expounded, “We didn’t have any traffic, and nothing came to me. The only transfer I was aware of was a Pouderoyen player leaving to go to Den Amstel who are an Elite Club and basically is like an association. Being a member of Pouderoyen I was made aware of it. At the association level, there was no traffic, nothing at all.”
