Cop charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting ex over breakup

Colin Whyte, the policeman who has been accused of shooting the mother of his two children in her neck after she broke up with him, was yesterday remanded to prison after he was charged with attempted murder. 

Whyte, 43, a Sergeant attached to the Blairmont Police Station, appeared before Magistrate Peter Hugh at the Blairmont Magistrate’s  Court, where the charge was read to him. 

He is accused of attempting to murder Shonetta James, a Special Constable, on February 12th.
