An access bridge at Yupukari, in Region Nine was yesterday morning destroyed by fire, suspected to have been deliberately set. Regional Commander Keithon King told this newspaper that a report was lodged at the Lethem Police Station and a team of police officers was dispatched to the area to investigate. Travel from Yupukari and three other communities in the North Rupununi to Lethem will be affected as a result of the bridge’s destruction as it connects the communities to the Lethem main road.
