Gov’t to build ‘one-stop’ diabetes centre – Anthony

The Ministry of Health will be constructing a “one-stop” diabetes centre to help persons with diabetes get better control over the illness.

Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony yesterday said that all medicines and equipment relating to diabetes will be available at the centre. He stated that when a person with diabetes goes to the centre they will be able to get advice from doctors, including access to eye and feet check-ups to ensure that there are no infections, as well as and nutritionists and will also have access to eye and feet check-ups to ensure that there are no infections.

In addition, he said there will an educational area so that persons will better understand the disease and how to avoid extreme illness.
