CANU intercepts suspected cocaine in saltfish bound for Miami

A parcel of the cocaine found hidden in the saltfish bone.

Six persons including a shipper were arrested yesterday morning following the discovery of 3.304 kilograms of suspected cocaine hidden in salted fish at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri.

The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) in a press statement last evening said that the suspected cocaine was intercepted at a cargo shed at CJIA.

It was destined for Miami, USA.
