The police are investigating the death of a man who was admitted into the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) and was not discharged prior to his body being discovered in front of a city store.
The deceased has been identified as Winston Blackette, 55, of Lot 6 Laing Avenue Housing Scheme, West Ruimveldt, Georgetown. The police say the man’s motionless body was discovered by a security guard employed at Da Silva’s Optical, Middle Street, in Georgetown. It was reported that the body was found at about 21:00 hrs on Wednesday in front of the Zoon Online Shopping store located across the street from Da Silva’s.
