Everest lead UG by 100 runs after opening day

Everest Cricket Club closed the opening day of the Georgetown Cricket Association/ Noble House Seafood two-day second-division tournament 100 runs ahead of University of Guyana Trojans at the Everest Cricket Club ground yesterday.

Everest won the toss and inserted UG who were skittled for 72 in 33.4 overs 10 minutes before lunch while returning to close on 172 for four after 43 overs.

For Everest, former West Indies Under-19 leg-spinner, Amir Khan was virtually unplayable, taking 5-25 while Trojans’ Laurel Parks top scored with 22, decorated with four boundaries before he was bowled by Khan. Keon Morris chipped in with 16 not out while Damien Vantull made 10.
