A 50-year-old Guyanese man, who is also a citizen of the United States (US) was arrested shortly after arriving in the country on Monday afternoon, following the discovery of a quantity of marijuana in his luggage.
In a press statement, the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) said that the illegal drug was unearthed at the Cheddi Jagan Inter-national Airport (CJIA), Timehri, Arrival Lounge.
The suspect, who has been identified as Joel Cadogan remains in custody as the investigation continues.
