Crabwood Creek fisher goes missing in Corentyne River

A search is underway for a Crabwood Creek, Upper Corentyne fisherman who went missing in the Corentyne River on Thursday evening.

Missing is Devin Persaud, also known as ‘Richard,’ 24, of Lot 35 Grant 1752 Crabwood Creek, Upper Corentyne.

Stabroek News was told, that on Wednesday afternoon boat captain Mahendradatt Mukram, 24, of Grant 1802 Crabwood Creek, along with a crew comprising Persaud, Azeem Naipaul also known as ‘Chunku’, 27, of Grant 1780 Crabwood Creek, Rakesh Deonarine, also known as ‘Winkas’, 47, of Grant 1803 Crabwood Creek, Imran Baksh, also known as ‘Steve’, 26, of Grant 1803 Crabwood Creek and a 16-year-old, of Grant 1802 Crabwood Creek Corentyne, left in fishing boat ‘Raghnie,’ bearing licence number BV 04389, to go fishing.
