Former two time Guyana boxing champion Jeff Roberts wants 24-year-old Joel Williamson to fight for the national title on the upcoming Gairy St Clair Superhero Fight Night Promotions Company double world title fight card later this year.
Roberts, manager/trainer of Williamson, told Stabroek Sports last evening that he thinks his charge is ready to fight for the national title despite him having only one professional fight.
Williamson, nephew of Howard `Battersea Bomber’ Eastman, scored a unanimous decision over Anson Green in a four-rounder in his debut professional fight in September of 2018 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
