Police search unearths cannabis, counterfeit bills at Plaisance house

The suspected cannabis found along with counterfeit $5000 bills

A 23-year-old suspect was on Tuesday arrested during a search at his residence where police found 2,075 grammes of suspected cannabis along with 17 $5000 bills suspected to be counterfeit.

The cordon and search was conducted between 21:50 and 22:30 hours at the suspect’s Graham Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara residence.

The police in a press release stated that ranks unearthed 13 transparent plastic parcels each containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems, along with suspected counterfeit Guyana currency.

The articles were taken to the Sparendaam Police Station where the suspected cannabis was weighed and the suspect arrested pending charges.
