Accused in dragging death to face High Court trial

Kester Lewis, the accused in the killing of David Barclay, who succumbed after being dragged by a car on D’Urban Street, Georgetown last December, was yesterday committed to stand trial at the High Court.

Lewis, 28, of Lot 455 4th Street, Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, was committed to stand trial at the conclusion of a preliminary inquiry that was conducted by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

According to the police, Barclay, 29, of Triumph, East Coast Demerara was dragged into several parked vehicles along D’Urban Street, Lodge, after a row with the driver.
