Guyana’s death toll from the novel coronavirus has increased to 355 following the confirmation of four more fatalities, which occurred on Thursday and Friday.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health on Saturday identified the deceased as an 80-year-old Region Ten man and a 35-year-old Region Five man, who both died on Thursday, and an 83-year-old man from Region Three and a 59-year-old woman from Region Three who both died on Friday.

The patients, who were admitted with COVID-19 like symptoms, died while receiving care. Samples were taken at the time of admission and they subsequently returned positive tests, the ministry said.
