Vaccine Drive Thru

Scenes from the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 Vaccination Drive-Thru at the Guyana National Stadium on Saturday. The 12-hour event, which started at 9 am, saw a steady flow of traffic in and out of the stadium as persons turned up to access first or second doses. Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony was reported by the Department of Public Information as saying that the event would be reviewed at its conclusion to determine its effectiveness and whether it should be replicated in other parts of the country. Anthony also noted that at the start of yesterday close to 180,000 people across the country had received their first dose of a vaccine, with over 45,000 of them having received their second dose.
