Man who had revolver, bullets gets two-year sentence

A man was yesterday sentenced to two years in jail after he was found guilty of possession of a firearm and ammunition without being a licensed firearm holder.

Nickolai Jemmott, of Lot 35 John Street, Lodge, appeared before Magistrate Rondell Weaver in a city court where the charge was read to him.

It was alleged that on September 16, 2019, while at Middle Road Sideline Dam, Jemmott had a .32 Taurus revolver in his possession. It was also alleged that on the same day and time, Jemmott had three live rounds of .32 ammunition without being the holder of a firearm licence.
