A 19-year-old Corentyne lad is now hospitalized at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital after he was allegedly stabbed by his father who is presently on the run.
The lad, O’Brian Poonai, 19, of Number 55 Village, Corentyne, resided with his father, 43, the suspect. According to reports, on Monday, Poonai after returning home in the afternoon noticed his father imbibing with some friends.
He then proceeded inside the house where eventually he retired to bed but could not fall asleep due to the noise coming from the group of men. As a result of him requesting the men to quieten down, an argument ensued between him and his father.
