Hockey team loses twice at Pan Am Cup competition

Guyana yesterday opened their Indoor Pan Am Cup (IPAC) campaign in Pennsylvania, USA with  consecutive defeats to defending champions and hosts USA as well as powerhouse Argentina.

In their first group match of the prestigious championship, the Guyanese, who are without captain Gabriella Xavier (Covid-19) and Sonia Jardine (ankle injury), lost to the Americans 20-2.

The halftime score of the lopsided fixture was 11-0. Hope Rose led the rout with conversions in the first, 14th, 16th, 17th, 23rd, 39th and 40th minute, with Ashley Sessa tallying five goals in the 12th, 18th, 18th, 30th and 38th minute.
