A city court yesterday heard that a man accused of snatching a woman’s phone, hid from police in a drain after committing the act.
Andrew Khan of Lot 154 Cooper Street, Albouystown, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, where he was charged and remanded for allegedly stealing a phone.
The charge states that on June 26, 2021, at Regent Street, Georgetown, he robbed Darshanie Persaud of a cellphone valued $116,000, property of Persaud.
