Guyana’s Golden Jaguars will battle Guatemala this evening from 9:30pm in the first round of the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup Qualifier at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The winner of this first round qualification fixture will battle the winner of the Guadeloupe/The Bahamas encounter on July 6 for a place in the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, head-coach Marcio Maximo said, “We are happy to be here. The main idea is to have a competitive game. We know Guatemala are powerful, but it’s a great experience for us. We know they are the favourite for the game but we will go to the pitch to play a competitive game. That is our first objective and show that we have the quality and condition to make it.”
